Dr. Stark ND has devoted her work to serving patients with cancer. Naturopathic cancer care can support you through all stages of your cancer journey, both during and apart from conventional therapies.

You’ve been handed a diagnosis of cancer, but…

You know you have more options than you’ve been given. You know your body is capable of healing. You want to know why you have cancer (so that you can fix the problem!) You’re ready to take charge of changing your health trajectory. You understand that radical lifestyle changes will be necessary to re-create long term health. And you know that your life if worth Thriving for.

You may be about to embark on your journey through conventional treatment (surgery, chemotherapy/immunotherapy, radiation) but know you can do more to support yourself. Dr Stark ND will work with you to create a plan that incorporates evidence-informed therapies that safely combine to improve the anti-cancer outcomes and reduce side effects of your conventional therapies.

In contrast to the anti-cancer focus of conventional treatment, Dr Stark ND has additional training in German New Medicine (mind-body approach) and the Metabolic Approach to Cancer (as per Dr. Nasha Winters ND) that seek to understand and address the root causes of what is driving your cancer (so your body can STOP producing cancer!) This more engaged work can be pursued before, during and after conventional therapy (or even to help decide on appropriateness and timing of conventional therapy) as well as in the situation when conventional therapy is not an option.

Your initial 2-hour appointment is required for all new patients, but it begins before you even arrive! When you book an appointment, we will email you intake forms and our clinic consent and policies, and we encourage you to work on these right away. You must complete and submit these forms by the day before your first consultation at the very latest, as Dr. Stark ND will review these forms as well as your health records before your meeting together. If your intake forms are not submitted by the day prior to your scheduled appointment, your initial intake will need to be rescheduled.

During this visit, we will review your journey with cancer so far, explore contributing factors, clarify details of your medical history, assess your current health status, and review current labs and imaging. We will identify your primary concerns and goals, and conduct a physical exam if necessary. From there, we will collaborate to build a plan to most appropriately support your path to your Thriving! This may involve additional tests, supplements, at-home work, and/or in-clinic therapies or technology. [If you have a preference for a therapeutic approach limited to diet and lifestyle only, homeopathic remedies, acupuncture or energy medicine, we may refer you to another practitioner who may be able to better support you.]

We will continue to collaborate via follow-up visits and will decide on a timeline and schedule based on your specific goals and needs. Generally, if you are in an active cancer or active treatment, active monitoring is warranted and we will want to follow-up monthly. We book these visits in 60-minute blocks - but we bill in increments as small as five minutes because we know sometimes a quick appointment is all we need to assess progress and make any necessary changes to the path forward. For example, an adjustment may need to be made to your IV bag if there is an update in your lab work, or you have a medication change.

Please note, your scheduled visit time includes the administration time that the doctor spends preparing for your visit, in addition to delivering your finalized plan. From time to time, additional research time or plan preparation may be required, as discussed with your doctor. This time will be billed at the regular follow up rate.
