ThermoField

ThermoField Local Regional Hyperthermia

ThermoField is a noninvasive deep tissue heating system that uses a simple heating pad like applicator to transfer a large volume of electromagnetic energy deep into body tissue to generate fever range temperatures in a localized region. There are significant advantages to the Thermofield system over other local hyperthermia technologies, such as being skin sparing (no risks of burns), delivering effective therapeutic temperatures in far less time, and being small and portable for ease of use. Local-regional hyperthermia has applications as a stand alone therapy but is most commonly used in combination with other treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, or IV therapies.

Mild hyperthermia (40°C-42°C) increases blood flow, oxygen, and drug distribution, inhibits DNA repair, and sensitizes chemotherapy.

Moderate hyperthermia (43°C-44°C) Lowers blood flow, increases hypoxia, stimulates the immune system, increases metabolism, increases cytotoxicity, increases DNA damage, and inhibits DNA repair.

Who is the ThermoField for?

  • Those with cancer looking to enhance the effectiveness of other therapies, or reduce pain

  • Men wanting a non-invasive non-drug treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (or enlarged prostate)

  • Women with pelvic floor dysfunction including vaginal atrophy, urinary incontinence, painful intercourse, etc

  • Those with localized chronic pain such as arthritis, back pain, menstrual pain, painful intercourse, rehab, sports injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, and many more
